  1. Observe: The first step in the OODA Loop is to observe what’s going on in your environment. This step includes taking in as much information as possible from the surrounding environment.   2. Orient: The second step of the process is to orient yourself and decide how you want to act in response to what you’ve observed. This decision should be based on your goals and values. Your actions must be appropriate for the situation at hand, otherwise, you’ll waste time and energy on things that don’t matter.
  3. Decide: This step decides on an action plan or course of action based on what we have observed and understood in the first two stages. This is when you take action, prepare your response, identify potential threats, and engage your enemy/competitor. Be decisive in this step so that you can fully commit to what you’re doing.
  4. Act: Finally, act on this plan. After you have acted, go back to observing your environment again so that you can start another cycle with a new observation of what’s going on around you.
